Dumi is a certified international executive and leadership coach. He works mainly across the African continent as an African skills development practitioner and a leadership skills development facilitator. He is currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he works for the Pan African Capacity Building Programme (PACBP) at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA). He designs and delivers skills development courses for senior and young African professionals across different sectors. Dumi uses coaching skills, emotional intelligence and Ubuntu principles, practices and values to ignite excellence within individuals, teams and organizational systems. He has over 20 years of experience helping organizations develop dynamic and high-performance cultures. Dumi is senior faculty at The Coaching Centre in Cape Town and Johannesburg, where he delivers a module on “Coaching in the African Context”. He is part-time faculty at the Stellenbosch University Business School’s Mphil in Management Coaching, where he teaches coaching, leadership, culture change from an Ubuntu-awareness perspective. Dumi has previously worked for the United Nations Development Programme. He currently collaborates closely with the African Union Foundation and coaches executives in universities and NPOs. He has co-edited a pioneering publication on African coaching and consulting at the Africa Centre for Work-Based Learning. Dumi co-founded the Ubuntu Coaching Foundation (UCF). He is currently the founding chairperson. He regularly facilitates leadership sessions for EXCO teams across African businesses in State Owned Companies. Dumi is married with three children.
